The notion of "Googling"someone has been readily absorbed into our culture and discourse. We hardly blink anymore at the idea of getting to know someone through an internet search. But we might pause at the idea someone else Googling us.
If you conduct an internet search for yourself, what will you find? What if someone Googles you...and nothing comes up? What are the implications of having an online presence---a "digital footprint"---and what are the responsibilities of maintaining it? What does this mean for you professionally, and what does it mean for your students? Find out in three quick and easy steps:
1. Browse the following resources.
2. Search your name (e.g. "John Smith") Google, Yahoo, or another search engine and see what comes up.
3. Start a blog for your reflection journal. For one of your blog posts respond to the prompt.

THE PROMPT: Post your reflections about digital footprints, the realities of having an online presence, and implications for yourself and your students. No need to be too polished or profound; half-baked or unfinished ideas are fine. We're looking to spark your thinking here.
